With many strings to his bow Brendan P Lynch is a self thought artist and musician hails from the small village of Ballyboughal just six mile north of Dublin airport in the hearth of rural County Dublin. Born in 1968 Brendan started to paint and play music at an early age and by his early teens was winning firsts at local art and music competitions. Brendan has developed a realistic or academic style of painting and drawing and like many artists has developed his own unique style. His fiddle playing has been described as one of the most unique styles of fiddling to hail from North County Dublin.
“My subjects are all around me the farmsteads, the mills, the forges, the gates and the landscapes. As a young lad I used to cycle every lane and borreen searching out interesting buildings of my native Fingal”
Brendan’s passion and concern for his native built environment has been unrelenting since his interest in this subject first plucked on his heartstrings. Now a qualified Town Planner Brendan has been employed by many Irish Local Government authorities to draw up conservation plans and lists of structures which merit protection. His music, his art and his town planning reflect the unashamed love and passion this unique man has for the Country he constantly promotes through all aspects of his work.
