Brendan P. Lynch hails from the small village of Ballyboughal, Fingal, North County Dublin. The Village of Ballyboughal is a small rural village of a population of 300 inhabitants. The area around is predominantly agricultural based and is characterised by a strong music dance and song tradition. This area is culturally rich in both the natural and built environment a factor that has had an influence on the upbringing of Brendan.

The few remaining older traditional musicians of this area influenced Brendan at an early age. His was fortunate to have meet and played with these important musicians of this unique area and learnt many of his favourite tunes from such musicians as Paddy Ceavers, Jimmy Gilsenan, Noel Mc Garry and Barry Ward.

Brendan started Irish dancing at the age of 6 and danced for many years winning many competitions. At the age of 12 he then turn to playing the Fiddle and has played and toured ever since.

Brendan has also given fiddle workshops at various festivals and has had the honor of being Fiddle tutor at his local Kitty Langan festival in the town of Rush North County Dublin in recent years. Brendan also teaches and performs at the Seamus Ennis Cultural center in the Naul (also north county Dublin) on a regular basis.
